Description
DESCRIPTION: An Art Deco, Jakob Bengel, chrome, green and black, brickwork pattern bracelet from the 1930s.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This piece has come from the factory when it was cleared in the 1980s. At that time it was not widely known who made this jewellery. I bought it from a dealer who got it from a German dealer who cleared a lot of the pieces from the factory. (Please see my blog on Bengel in ‘My Notes on Manufacturers’.) Eventually two books were published on Bengel and it has become widely known and collectible.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: I have had this piece for some time but not actually worn it. It is as I got it. It is very shiny and the paint is in good condition. (It is painted enamel not hard enamel.) It measures about 7 1/2 inches long and about 3/4 inch wide. I cannot guarantee that the clasp/end links are completely original as some pieces were missing links and these could have been added by the dealers whose hands this passed through. They would have been from the factory though.
