A row of ?Venitian glass beads with roses and forget-me-nots, goldstone glass (adventurine glass) decoration on a turquise glass bead. Most likely made in Venice but could have been made elsewhere (Thuringia or Bohemia). Not sure of the date. The quality is reasonable . Has attractive bead caps in gilt metal and small spacer beads. Not sure if the catch is original - could be later. It is very difficult to date these beads unless they are of exceptional quality. They are still hand making beads in Venice today - and these are being copied in places like India and China. (I do not think these are contemporary though!) Wish I could be more specific! Thanks to Sibyle Jargstorf's books - Schiffer. Length approx 22 inches. Condition good.
