DESCRIPTION: A Jean Painleve red galalith on brass salamander/lizard brooch from the mid 20th century.

He was a famous underwater photographer who also made a range of jewellery This lizard/salamander brooch is one of a lot of related pieces featuring a salamander -in lots of different colours. This one is a red galalith and brass brooch and has the typical round, pipe shaped pieces on three sides. Other pieces can be found to make a small collection.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The condition is good – which is not always the case with Painleve pieces. It is not signed – the majority of pieces are not – but are easily recognisable as Painleve. It measures about 1 3/4 at the widest point.
