This is a Kigu gilt carryall compact from the 1950's. Carryall's were popular from the 1930-1950's. I have looked on the Kigu web site but cannot find this particular one - but there were some similar. They were expensive at the time - between ?60-?80! It consists of a gilt metal compact that has two openings. On one side is the compact - with Kigu marked on the powder lid. It has the sifter for the loose powder ( and there is a little residue left inside) and it has the puff. The mirror is in good condition. On the other side there is a space for 7 cigarettes - although of course they were shorter then! On the top it has a clamp to hold a lipstick. It has a small carrying chain. The front has a patterned decoration round the edge with a plain rectangle to have a name/initial engraved. The back is a plain pattern. The lipstick has the Kigu logo on the end. It has a black material pouch with gold stars and a plain box. The condition is good. The main body of the compact measures approx. 3 x 2 1/5 x 4/5 inches - with the lipstick on top.
