This is a Czech brooch from the Art Deco period It consists of a brass filigree base, with faux turquoise stones and painted decorative brass components. It is not large, being approx. 2 x 1 inches. The condition is good. If you look at the photo there is one small blue stones that looks a tiny bit as if it has had a chip. I think that this is original and the stone is a bit misshapen. Do not think it is a chip. This brooch would have been made in the same area as pieces by the more famous Max Neiger. Although this brooch is very well made - and the painting lovely - I am not able to attribute it to Neiger. I have some Neiger pieces and am not seeing enough similarities to be able to suggest that it might be. However it is a great brooch and the condition of the painting very good. Ref: 1794 C1/18
