Dress clips were popular from the 1920'2 until the early 1950's. They have a clip at the back with little spikes (not to be mistaken for earrings and put one the ears!). They were worn on dresses - one on a v-neck or a pair on a square neck. They could be worn on jacket lapels - or even clipped onto hats. Customers are often unsure what to do with them. Apart from the usual uses they can be hung on a chain or put on a rigid torque (see small picture). If I have a boring clutch bag I would made a small slit and insert the dress clip so only the front shows. A pair can sometimes be used as shoe clips. If you want to wear it as a brooch - insert a safety pin from the back of the garment so the pin shows at the front - and hook the dress clip off it. There are lots of ways to use dress clips!
