This is a sword brooch by Grosse. It is made in gold tone metal and has diamanté white glass stones and a green glass cabochon stone at the end and a red glass cabochon stone in the middle. It is marked on the back 'Grosse'. The Henkel & Grosse company was started in 1907. It eventually became the principle manufacturer of Dior's jewellery and was taken over by Dior in 2005 - after 50 years of making under licence. The brooch is in good general condition. The white diamanté glass stones are perhaps not quite as sparkly as they would have been new, but otherwise it is fine It is quite an impressive piece - being over 4 1/2 inches long. I love the quality of the Grosse jewellery - which is not surprising given its' long association with Dior.
