This is a Goya powder box from the 1940s. The top is cream with Goya written on it. The rest of the box is dark blue. The bottom of the box give full details - the colour is Rachel. On the side of the box it gives the address as 161 Bond Street, London, W1. There is a wonderful article on Goya on the Amersham Museum's web site - in The History of the Amersham Area - entitled 'Goya Cosmetics & Perfumes'. It includes a description of a visit to the factory in the 1950s. The company was founded in 1932 and closed in 1984. The powder is unopened and the box measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Ref: 2983 C46/12
