This is a red glass with gold decoration snake necklace and lever backed earrings set. The red beads are intersperced with faceted clear glass beads. The snake's head holds a faux pearl. I am slowly buying the contents of a jewellery shop in Spain that closed in 1972. This family owned shop was opened around 1900 by the Grandfather –who used to go to Gablonz to buy components/ findings etc. His Daughter took over the shop and employed her Sister as a bead threader and lots of necklaces were made with older components. In 1972 the shop was shut and the contents stayed inside until fairly recently when the Granddaughter inherited the contents of the shop. It is a lot of work making sure all the jewellery is fit to use. Some of the necklaces may have been hanging up all that time and need threading. A lot of the glues have deteriorated and have to be restuck. Enough work to last me for a very long time! This necklace is in good condition. There are a couple of modern calottes holding the clasp which I put on to strength the end. It measures about 23 inches. The earrings are about 2 1/2 top to bottom. Ref: 3343 YL
